Raw Data Access - Setting Up Google Cloud
This document aims to provide you with step-by-step instructions to gain access to real-time raw data straight from your Insightech profile, so that you can query your own data, and also connect up Insightech’s default dashboards for your profile.
Step 1 - Setup Google Account
To access the raw data, you are required to have a Google account. If you already have a Google account, you can skip this step and read ahead.
If you don’t have a Google account, you can setup a new Google account with Gmail service, or setup a new Google account with your existing email address here: https://accounts.google.com/signup
Step 2 - Create Google Cloud Project
Go to https://cloud.google.com/ and click the “Try Free” button to create your first Google Cloud Project if you haven’t used Google Cloud Platform before. Alternatively login to your console, click on the project name at the top of the menu bar, and click the “New Project” button in the popup to create a new project.
Step 3 - Grant BigQuery Access
In the Google Cloud Platform console, click on the navigation menu icon, then click on IAM and admin > IAM to access the permission control interface.
On the interface, click Add button, and copy firstname.lastname@example.org to the New Member input box, and select BigQuery Admin and Project Viewer as the Role option. Click “Save” to save your settings.
Once you complete the steps above, please inform your Insightech consultant so they can test the profile access and kick start the deployment of your raw data views and dashboards.
